Commune

commune ascii logo from the telnet/ssh ui

I've been way less excited about social media lately since it's mostly algorithm-driven crap meant to spy on you and sell you things instead of posts from friends, family, and community, plus I miss the old days of BBSes and web forums, so I started building a replacement.

I've been working on commune, my BBS & forum inspired online community software, and have added some really cool features. It has browser push notifications, watching for threads & tags, mentions in posts & chat, and markdown support pretty much everywhere now.

It's still in the pretty early stages but feel free to check it out! It's written in Rust and has a responsive web UI as well as a text-based interface for telnet and SSH.
