2007.03.23.0116 :: brokeass jetset

wow, i haven't updated in a hot minute. i guess last time i blogged, i was in new york for nye. about a week after new york, i headed to chicago to play for a week and to play a show at sonotheque with derek plaslaiko, daedalus and plusdevice, which was awesome. my set was really short, but it was cool to play all my new tracks in chicago instead of playing the same things people have heard a hundred times there.

after chicago i headed out to seattle (shorty's is like the best place ever... junk food, great beer and pinball) and then down to san francisco, where i played grime city. it was my first-ever american dubstep show and it went pretty well, except that i had some technical difficulties with my soundcard. apparently the set was recorded, but i have yet to hear it.

sf is rad, though. i hadn't been there since like 1999 when i went to javaone, so this was obviously a much different experience. it does bum me out that bars close at 2am, but whatever. drinking in the park with a bunch of weirdos beats hangout out at a 4am bar in chicago (read: the continental) anyway.

after sf i came back to vegas for a week or so before heading up to detroit. detroit was super super rad because shaun and maayan were in town from berlin. between them, seth, lee, ben parris, kato and sven lito, we had a little mini-berlin goin on in the basement all week. the show was ok, except that i once again had soundcard issues. i think i need to buy a new one before my next show.

i was only supposed to be in detroit for a week, but seth talked me into skipping my flight so that i could hang out for a few more days and then ride down with him and lee to chicago. i ended up having an awesome time in chicago, except that i was only there a couple of days and managed to get sick halfway through, so i didn't get to see nearly as many people as i wanted. i did finally get to bowl in the average bowlers bowling league for their last week, though, so that was cool.

i got back to vegas from chicago and then headed down to arizona for the weekend. we went over the hoover dam and got to the grand canyon on friday, then hung out there until saturday night. then we drove down to flagstaff and partied at some random irish bar for st. patrick's day. the next day we drove down to sedona and jerome, then headed back up through the desert and the arizona joshua tree park. i took an ass-ton of pictures, but i haven't uploaded them yet.

now i'm back in vegas and trying to figure out what to do with myself. i don't have any bookings for a few weeks, so i might drive down to los angeles or something. other than that, i spend most of my time in vegas hanging out at the awesomest bar ever, champagne's cafe. i apparently go there a lot, because they already have my picture on the wall.

i do have a few new releases out digitally, which is cool. you can buy bad beat from a ton of places like itunes or rhapsody, and i have two songs out now on wolf + lamb which are for sale on beatport. word.
