2006.08.17.1403 :: arizona bay

i headed down to la for a few days last weekend and i was amazed by how much fun i had. got there on friday in time to have coffee with j. glaze and drop him off at the aiport. it sucks i didn't get to hang out with him more, but at least i got to see him.

friday night i hit up the barney's warehouse sale, the taco truck at lincoln and rose and then vinebar with doris and her friend eleni. after vinebar we met up with preston at his house and cock-blocked his roommate. man i miss dirty p.

saturday morning i had one of the best brunches ever of my entire life at the kings road cafe. seriously, if you're ever in la, eat there. so good.

saturday night was like a ten-way birthday party extravaganza. we started out at some loft office thing in koreatown overlooking downtown and some junkie park and then ended up at a house party in silverlake and some weird ravey birthday party thing in hollywood. i think it was a rarity for los angeles to have a party like that, because a lot of people made comments about it. it was just in some office building apartment thing in the middle of a neighborhood, but there were tons of people partying inside and outside, with speakers both inside and outside and the thing went until like 6am or something.

the weirdest part was how many people i ran into at the party. tons of people i hadn't seen in a long time (baseck!), some people i've only ever corresponded with over the internet and some people i totally didn't expect to see in la.

anyway, the trip was awesome. i got to hang out with rad people, chill at venice beach watching the sunset, eat some amazing food and party til dawn. yay. i'm always happy when i have fun in la, because i used to hate the place. it seems like every time i go back, though, i like it more.
