2006.02.14.1001 :: the red carpet

we went to the premiere last night and it was even more hilariously hollywood than i expected... red carpet and paparazzi bidness. totally silly.

the film was, as i expected, interesting and entertaining but also heavy handed and a bit overdone. it felt like a high school boy lashing out fantasy, so it'll probably do quite well in america.

joel silver made an interesting slip at the end when he said, "thank you to our friends who couldn't be here. andy and laura... er larry wachowski."

also, the music under the credits was possibly the worst "techno" i've ever heard. seriously, it sounded like a 12 year-old that just found a techno sample collection and tried to piece a song together out of it (not that i wasn't that 12 year-old at one point). they obviously should've just used to "fuck the government" by bruza & bashy.
